It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood.

This past week the weather has been crazy over here in Sicily. We nearly had a mini-hurricane and all the roads turned into rivers, trees were blowing sideways...buildings crumbling. The mountain has been getting a lot of snow too, we are just at the bottom of the mountain so we just get rain.  Occasionally some hail in there too.  To top it off the volcano will probably erupt in the next week or so...which is normal. Etna erupts 1-3 times a month. The last big eruption was in early January while we were back in the States for the holidays.  It was a pretty big one, it actually changed the peaks of the mountain.
However, today there seemed to be a nice little break in the weather..still a bit chilly though. So my friend and I decided to make a little trip to the Auchan. This can be easily compared to WalMart and Target. There are quite a few scattered throughout Sicily, we went to the one inside of the Porte Di Catania mall. I don't really make it out here very often, because of the base having a commissary and a Navy Exchange we do pretty much all our shopping there.  It does get boring after awhile though. It is a little intimidating to go out in town too...it always is an adventure....even if it is just going to the local store.  Here are just a few random pictures I snapped throughout.
