Cabin in the (Bel Air) Woods

Today was a special day.

Zoe and I drove North to visit my best friend Miwa in her little cabin abode in the Bel Air woods.  Woods, you say? in Bel Air? why yes! It's not just full of mansions of the stars...and Fresh Princes...theres another part that is pretty woodsy and Miwa happens to live right in the heart of it.  Apparently one of Elizabeth Taylor's mansions was right behind Miwa's house.  A common sighting while driving down Sunset to her house: sightseeing tour vans filled with tourists eager to spot a movie star jogging or just to see where they live.

After I arrived, we grabbed a quick lunch then headed to Santa Monica to get a sweet treat at Harajuku Stop.  Here you can get really sweet dessert crepes.  It was empty so the three of us took over the place and Zoe ran amuck until we got our crepe. SO good!

O ya, Miwa is 8 months pregnant. She's ready to pop!
Zoe loves purses
Japanese soda, theres a marble inside. I don't know why. But
the bottles were pretty.

After that we made a quick stop to Trader Joes then back to the house to explore.  These cabin houses look like they're just plopped up in the hills, and they pretty much are.  Miwa's is steady on the ground...but the 2 that we climbed uphill to were pretty rickety, and after exploring a few minutes in them my fear of spiders and creepy crawlies kinda took over and I decided it was time to go back into the house.

Miwa made my favorite meal EVER that we would eat at her momma's house when we were younger.  It's a Japanese dish called 'donburi'.  Its thinly sliced meat cooked on a pan, with onions and egg poured over then all of that is eaten over rice.  Zoe loved it too...and she's pretty picky these days!

we skyped with our bestest friend Sarah, she lives in New Jersey for the
next two years...we offered her a grapefruit and she was clearly
excited.

Zoe was so good all day...it amazes me everyday how awesome she is and well behaved.  She didn't get a nap today and I was expecting a breakdown at some point...but it didn't happen.  She just played, and was super cute and funny.  As soon as I turned the car on and headed back to the OC you can be sure she was passed out.

Today was good. Thank you, Miwa-chan.  I love you!

Why, hello.

Hello there dear friends....

As you can see, things have changed around here.  And they had to! One obvious reason is I no longer am living in Sicily...and my blog name had to change.  So i decided to give it a full facelift since it has been awhile anyways.

Welcome to Life in Parra-dise ( I thought it was pretty cute).  yes.... it is a play on words for paradise, obviously...my last name is Parra so. Voila! There you go. Parra-dise.  I constantly hear Coldplay's song 'Paradise' in my head when i say Parra-dise..."Parra, Parra, Parra-dise...."

Moving on now...

How have you all been?

We have been busy here, trying to get back on our feet, starting our own business with a couple other things on the side.

Here is a little preview of what we have been working on:

PARRA jewelry. Coming soon!
So many pictures have been taken between now and the last time I blogged...so here are a few randoms to put you up to speed with what has been going on here in Parradise.

:)

Hubby's been surfing pretty much every day.

Being silly at Pappy's office (my dad)

Soaking in all the Christmas lights

Not liking Santa Claus very much.

Driving around.

Zoe in her room...that is daddy's crib. It still has bite marks from when he would
try and escape.

Happy new year everyone, I have a feeling 2013 is going to be a good one.

(Thank you to my MIL, Lapdogknits.blogspot.com for letting me use her awesome picture of those cute little mushrooms for my blog header.)

Pebbles and Pumpkins

Happy November 1st!

We have been adjusting to life back here in America, hence the lack of blog posts...I hope all of you are doing well, we are definitely happy and busy and enjoying life here in California.  Zoe has become quite attached to me since we have been home.  I usually have to hold her ALL day pretty much.  I'm quite positive that my right arm has bionic strength by now.  Oh, did I mention she's really picky too about how I hold her? yep.  Just with my right arm. Silly gal...she is still adjusting to being around other people I think, so she's trying to stay close to me...maybe she thinks someone will try and steal her? Never!!! :)

Anyways, yesterday we took Zoe to a farm and pumpkin patch to celebrate Halloween.  Jared, Eric's cousin tagged along with us.  It was fun, but again Zoe wouldn't sit in her stroller so I had to carry her most of the time!! I am just going to cherish these moments because someday she is going to be a teenager and I won't be able to carry her around anymore...

When evening rolled around we dressed her up as Pebbles from the Flinstones.  I really wanted to get some good pictures of her running around and trick or treating but she wouldn't...she just wanted to be held. She really like seeing all the kids in their costumes.  It was a good night. My brother came by too so he could partake in the festivities.

I hope you all enjoy the pictures!!

Hey Eric, could you ever say no to these faces? heehee
